In Sivasagar, five women-led SHGs are transforming household waste into compost, producing over 11 quintals in two months. Supported by the Municipal Board and DAY-NULM, the initiative reduces landfill waste while generating income — a strong example of how local leadership and community action drive sustainable waste management.

The Nagaon RRR Centre’s “Threads of Hope” campaign collects used clothes from residents, sorts them, and distributes them to families in need. By reducing textile waste and promoting social inclusion, this Municipal Board and Shrishti-led effort shows the strength of community-driven care.

Tinsukia’s “Zero Waste, Zero Hunger” program recovers surplus food from hotels and redistributes it to over 100 vulnerable residents. Led by the Municipal Board and Citiyano De Solutions, the effort blends food recovery with awareness on hygiene and segregation, showing how partnerships deliver real social and environmental impact.
